Melany Barr-Patz, M.Ed, LPC Associate
Supervised by Robyn Rausch, LPC-S, RPT-S
Melany is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Certified School Counselor. Before becoming a counselor, she taught preschool and elementary school. As a counselor, Melany carries over many of the things she most enjoyed about teaching, including building relationships that nurture and encourage, and tailoring her approach to match clients’ needs.

Her clinical interests include childhood anxiety, adjustment concerns, neurodivergence, trauma, and parenting. Melany integrates techniques from many different approaches including play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, and solution-focused brief therapy according to clients’ goals. Above all, Melany aims for her clients to gain a sense of their unique inner workings and to be use their strengths to build a more fulfilling life.

In her free time, Melany loves to read and spend time with her husband, toddler, and two dogs. She grew up speaking both French and English at home, and lived in France throughout most of her childhood and adolescence. As a Texan transplant, she is still exploring the Houston area and welcomes any and all food recommendations and ideas for toddler-friendly outings!
